Job Description

Reporting to: Operations Executive

Direct Reporting Staff Members:
National Operations Managers
Regional Managers
Area Managers
Cluster Managers

Indirect Reporting Staff Members:  
Store Managers
 
Functional Reporting:
The incumbent works in close collaboration with supporting departments within the Group to ensure operational excellence.

Overview of the position:
The overall objective of this position:  
Manage all the operational activities necessary to ensure the efficient operation of a group of retail stores.

Key Job Functions:
Promotes and upholds the company ethos.
Maximizes Sales, develops and maintains Standards and continually enhances Service to both internal & external stakeholders.
Performance management of all direct reporting.
Retention of “Human Capital”.
Compliance with company policies and procedures.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Key outputs/responsibilities of the position:
1.Responsible for the day to day operations of between 45 and 65 stores.
2.Implementation of brands standards , policies and procedures.
3.Manage between 6 and 7 Operations Managers on a daily basis.
4.Provide training and development to divisional team , including store staff.
5.Motivating the divisional team to achieve targets and benchmarks
6.Ensure that stores maximize their sales and achieve their respective monthly sales budgets.
7.Regular store visits to provide both store staff and Ops Managers with direction
8.Interview all key store positions with Operations Managers before an appointment is made.
9.Monitor merchandise shrinkage and deal with problem situations with regards to Stock loss / Shrinkage.
10.Ensure that consistency is maintained across each brand to raise the standards.
11.Identify merchandise opportunities and highlight to the Brand / Merchandise teams. 
12.Balance merchandise across the stores in conjunction with the Operations/ Brand Managers to maximize efficiency of product sales.
13.Identify Marketing / promotional opportunities and implement marketing strategy.
14.Regular review of all staff in the division.
15.Interaction with all Brand Managers , National Operations Managers and other Divisional Managers to ensure consistency.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
List the characteristics of a suitable incumbent for this position -

Educational Qualifications:
-Matric (Grade 12).
-A tertiary qualification in retail business management or related discipline would be an advantage.
-MS Office suite of software programmes, specifically MSWord and Excel.


Experience:
-Previous   experience within a Retail Fashion environment an advantage.
-5- 10 years of Retail Area Management experience .
-Previous experience in Multi Areas/Brands

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

Knowledge:
A sound understanding of the Company and Divisional marketing strategies and plans.
Has proficient knowledge of the market place and can identify business opportunities/threats.

Outstanding leadership skills with ability to mentor and lead by example.
Successful track record in increasing sales, driving profits and meeting company goals.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
Strong interpersonal skills-the ability to communicate and work well in a team/individual environment.
Strong knowledge of Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical skills, specifically in business forecasting and planning.
Excellent organisational skills.

Salary between R30-R40K negotiable based on experience
