Job Description
Position available in Woodmead.
Requirements:
- Admitted attorney with strong base in contract law
- 7 or more years relevant experience required
- A working knowledge of the various legal frameworks applicable to the company, i.e. labour law, environmental law, finance regulations, corporate law, etc
- Excellent communication at all levels and interpersonal skills essential
- Knowledge of Supply chain management and procurement rules of government sector clients in SA and current legislation in the built environment would be an advantage
Duties:
- Provide legal support and advice to SSI
- Assess and advise on the legal impact of contracts the company is involved with i.e. Joint Venture / Consortium agreements, sub-consultancy and subcontractor agreements, service agreements, lease agreements, mergers & acquisitions, contracts between clients and contractors administered by SSI, etc
- Ensure SSI’s potential legal risks are minimised
- Assist with daily queries from a legal perspective, which could be complex and require an immediate response
- Assist with all actions leading to the compilation of the B-BBEE Scorecard for the company
- Support the Executive Committee in the operation and monitoring of the Business Integrity Management system in the company
- Liaise with external parties with regard to legal matters as and when required
- Ensure that the management is informed of any relevant legal changes
- Monthly reporting as required
