Training Officer/HR Generalist
The training officer will provide training programs to staff members so that they have the understanding, practical skills and motivation to carry out particular work-related tasks.
The training officer will either deliver training sessions to participants or, alternatively, arrange for others to do so.
This position also includes the development of relevant training courses which relates to the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees'' skills so that they can fulfill their potential within the organisation.as well as assisting the Coastal HR Manager in any HR related issues , queries and general administration
§ Identifying training and development needs within an organisation through job analysis, the performance appraisal system and regular consultation with business managers;
§ Designing and developing training and development programs based on both the organisation''s and the individual''s needs;
§ Considering the costs of planned program and keeping within budgets: assessing that adequate return on investment of any training is achieved;
§ Working as part of the HR team to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in the organisation, such as line managers, and senior managers up to board level;
§ Developing effective induction programmes;
§ Assist line managers in devising individual learning plans for their staff members;
§ Producing training materials (including content, exercises and assessment tools) for in-house courses;
§ Managing the delivery of training and development programmes in line with the overall training strategy of the organisation;
§ Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees and the overall effectiveness of the training delivered by using questionnaires and through discussions with course delegates and their managers;
§ Ensuring that all statutory training requirements are met;
§ Evaluating the overall effectiveness and impact of training and development programmes;
§ Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment;
§ Assisting line managers and trainers to solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups;
§ Keeping up to date with developments in training by reading relevant publications and attending relevant courses;
§ Using newly acquired knowledge to produce training materials and manuals;
§ Possess an understanding of e-learning (computer-based training) techniques.
§ Manage all aspects of training administration.
§ Assist in recruitment and selection of staff.
§ Provide general HR advise including IR.
§ Assist in the implementation of HR Policies and Procedures in the area.
§ General HR related admin.
Educational Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- B. Degree in Social Sciences.
- MS Office suite of programmes.
- A formal qualification in adult education/training will be an advantage or min 5 years experience in HR/Taining.
- Previous experience in development and deliveryof training programmes.
- Appropriate experience in the Retail/wholesale fashion industry.
