ESKOM Holdings is the generator, transporter and distributor of approximately 95% of South Africa’s electricity and approximately 45% of the electricity used in Africa. It is the world’s eleventh-largest power utility in terms of generating capacity, ranks ninth in terms of sales, and has the world’s largest dry-cooling power station. The Enterprise Division of Eskom designs, builds and refurbishes Eskom assets. They also act as a catalyst for project development for the group. The main focus of Eskom Enterprise is to support Eskom Holdings, and be the custodian of non-regulated business. They also offer strategic and commercial life-cycle services to the line divisions. Eskom buys electricity from and also sells electricity to the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

"Mostly Apathetic"

After working for Eskom for three years, I learnt exactly how a company should not be run. Political power play, empire building and red tape are rife throughout the company. Money is wasted hand over fist in most departments. There are very few dynamic people in Eskom and those that are still driven in spite of working with apathetic colleagues do not get the credit they deserve.

Been working for Eskom for thirty six years. There has been a lot of changes within the company. Boy oh boy, the management running the company now has no clue on how to run a big corporate company like Eskom. this is very sad.

The worst management decisions ever made by any company that I know of. They have no idea what is happening on the floor. Pathetic, Carte Blanche should visit them.

I worked for Eskom for six months and the level of unprofessionalism was mostly shocking from the supervisors position until senior technicians.

"Good Comany to Work for"

This company is one of the best companies to work for with good training. Their strong relations abroad ensures world class exposure and benefits the employee. Work ethics are also excellent. I recommend this to all engineering candidates.
