JOB OBJECTIVE

• Manage inventory of raw and packaging materials at 3rd party manufacturers and offsite storage facilities
• Sourcing components according to demand and quality standards;
• Coordinate supply of above materials as per production requirements
• Ensure products are produced and delivered on time for distribution in an effective and profitable manner;
• Ensure smooth and cost-efficient flow of the production operations.

TASK DESCRIPTION

• Coordinate supply of API’s from China, India and Europe sources
• Ensure relevant pharmaceutical permits and licenses are in place
• Manage local agents and coordinate supply through indirect supply, direct and call off
• Coordinate production workflow for multiple materials from multiple sources
• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
• Determine demand requirements, packaging and raw materials needed to cover the supply of selected components to 3rd parties and coordinate production demand
• Attend monthly production meetings
• Manage stock at external storage facilities’ and 3rd party manufacturers, ensure bi-annual stock takes
• Manage BOMs and costs
• Determine requirements from local or international 3rd party suppliers
• Gain forecast from commercial business into demand plan and generate the necessary requirements
• Manage weekly product workgroup meetings and hold monthly S&OP reviews
• Place purchase orders on suppliers well in advance with consideration of lead times and MOQ’s
• Work closely with finance to provide LC’s
• Track all inbound shipments and ensure timeously clearing and delivery of shipments to the relevant distribution points
• Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
• Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
• Prepare and submit status and performance reports
• Keep paperwork organized
• Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff

EDUCATION AND KEY EXPERIENCE

• Relevant Qualification (Degree or Diploma)
• Proven experience as a demand planner
• Proven experience in buying / procuring of materials
• Procuring of pharmaceutical raw materials, API’s and packmats will be an advantage
• Experience in a pharma or similar production environment would be important
• Finance background will be an advantage, including excellent mathematics and statistics skills
• Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Organized, results-driven, excellent communicator with good problem-solving skills.
