A 5* Game Lodge situated close to Hoedspruit.Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will report to the Lodge Head Ranger. Listed below are the requirements for this position: Key responsibilities include:Providing an interpretive safari experience on game drive and / or walks dailyHosting the guests for the duration of their stay at the lodgeResponsible for the safety and well-being of guests while on safariCoordination extra quests activities on the reserveSafari experience / activities for children – kiddies drive, fishing and other specific activities that form part of our children’s program at the lodgeAssisting with transfers of guests/staffQualificationsMinimum 1 & ½ years guiding experience in a Big 5 reserve with in a similar lodge environment. FGASA level 1 qualification. Full Trails guide or back up guide qualification – advantage. SASSETA certificate. Valid PDP. Valid Code 08 Drivers’ License. DEAT registered THEATA registered. First Aid level 1/2/Rifle competency. Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) – advantage.SkillsA Field Guide / Ranger provide a core service to the lodge. This position is fully responsible for conduction a guided safaris experience that is unique, personalised, professional and enjoyable. Candidates for this position should be passionate about people, nature, wildlife, conservation, environment and sharing their knowledge. They must be enthusiastic, energetic and physically fit. These competencies include the following requirements: Personality - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (listening skills, verbal communication etc). Positive attitude, Self-motivated, Confident. Sense of humour. Specific Job Skills - Strong guest focus to ensure guest expectations are exceeded. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Flexibility – adapt successfully to changing situations and environments. Attention to detail. Sense of adventure. High energy levels & drive to get things done. Planning & organizing – plan activities and carry them through effectively Excellent driving skills. An appreciation of other cultures. Ability to speak and/or understand another language would be an advantage. Computer Skills Computer literate. Literacy and Numeracy Fluent in English (speak, read and write). Excellent literacy skills (writing of emails, viewing web pages). Team Player Ability. Flexibility. Strong time-management skills.
