Large military / Defence Company is looking for a well experienced AA Snr Logistics Manager to manage and coordinate logistics activities for successful execution of the business plan from order placement to client delivery and management of inventory levels while optimizing plant and stores materials logistics flow in Potchefstroom

Qualifications:

Matric

Min Dip / Degree in logistics / supply management/ supply chain – equal to NQF level 6

CPIM or advanced management qualification an ad

Experience:

Min 3 years’ exp in logistics / production / materials planning/ handling

Min 5 years exp in management / leadership role

Strong experience on incoterms

Very good experience on imports and exports

Transactional exposure on any ERP system

Manage and optimize logistics process – plant, inter department, site-site, and external to clients

Ensure ERP / APS system are updated

Maintain standards – ISO 9000, ISO 1400 and ISO 1800 and related to road, rail and air transportation regulations

Optimize inventory management system

Implement input and output of stores control

People management – performance, succession planning, training and development and discipline

Budget control

Manage and optimize logistics processes

Ensure ERP / APS systems are up to date

Implement “best in class” practices

Management of transport portfolio, ensuring acceptable compliance standards

People management – succession planning / performance contracting / training and development

Budget control – management of overheads / materials / salary cost centres

Skills

Knowledge of all modes of transport regulations, compliance standards and INCOTERMS

Excellent interpersonal as well as planning and organizational skills

Good analytical experience

Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness in a unstructured environment

Drive continuous improvement and change management
