The purpose of the role is the selling of timber and plywood products by obtaining orders from clients. This involves marketing and sales of York Timbers product range in the Upington area.

Key Performance Areas:
• Selling of all Lumber, Plywood and timber related products (timber products)
• Responsible for achieving the planned sales objectives for his/her area
• Regular visits to current and potential customers ensuring high quality service
• Securing new business
• Relating to marketing trends
• Manage customer profitability

Requirements:
Educational:
• Grade 12 and/or equivalent
• A suitable sales and/or marketing qualification would be an advantage
• Driver’s License
• Own Transport

Work Experience:
• At least 2 years selling experience within the timber industry will be an advantage

Other:
• Sound negotiation and selling skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Must be passionate about sales and the timber industry
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels
• High energy levels and willing to go the extra mile
• Good communication skills and the ability to function in a team environment
• Must be willing to travel
• Able to represent York in a presentable and professional manner
