Location: Johannesburg

Description: An international company who specialise in analytical and diagnostic equipment is seeking an Account Manager to establish a customer base in South Africa for new products that will be introduced. The successful candidate will be responsible for the whole of South Africa with the main territories including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban. The main focus will be on Universities and Biotechnology companies. The duties includes but is not limited to: Growing business according to forecasted sales/target. Identifying and visiting potential customers. Building lasting relationships with customers. Providing technical/product information. Assist with any queries.

Key Requirements: BSc or higher degree in Molecular, Biochemistry, Microbiology or any Science related field. Project management experience, excellent planning and organizational skills. Excellent problem solving abilities. Excellent marketing acumen and able to operate effectively in a matrix business environment. Willingness to travel is essential (50%+). Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Proficient in English, and preferentially a third language. Valid driver’s license essential.

Additional Requirements: Experience with Liquid handling, Microfluidics, Plate readers, Rad counters, High content imaging and genetic analyses preferred. Professional and ethical with high Integrity. Self-starter with a high degree of independence. Ability to drive a product range and motivating a sales team to success. Proactive mindset with strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Results oriented. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems. Capable to operate independently and as part of a team. Excellent leadership and motivational skills, is team orientated and highly communicative.
