Responsibilities:
The Account Manager is responsible for pursuing, responding to prospects and managing key customer accounts utilising Our Client’s electronic marketing and billing capabilities. This includes securing business from designated key prospects; presenting to prospects and closing the sale. Thereafter, the Account Manager is expected to proactively manage the account. The Account Manager position includes research, consultation, presentations, keeping up with electronic trends and offering strategic marketing advice, plus day-to-day management of account activities.

The Account Manager must be a committed team member and possess good people management skills, integrity, energy and creativity.

This position has the following areas of focus:

1) Business Development:
• Finding and managing new business opportunities within existing clients
• Defining retention strategies for key accounts
• Ensuring solid and multi-layered client relationships
• Defining cross- and up-selling opportunities
• Responding to incoming prospect queries and managing them
• Managing existing customer accounts effectively
• Propose new solutions, tactics and strategies to existing clients
• Providing proposals, presentations and quotations to potential and existing customers
• Offering strategic digital advice to customers

2) Client Strategy:
• Develop and maintain top level relationships within defined accounts
• Defining growth strategies for key accounts
• Compile presentation decks outlining our client offering for relevant clients
• Present and drive strategic ideas into accounts
• Make formal and informal presentations that engage clients on their digital strategy
• Show a marked improvement in revenue based on implementation of said strategy
• Gather information and perform analysis on client accounts based on campaign activity (quarterly and annual)
• Use analytics as a tool in positioning with clients
• Create ideas that are in line with market trends
• Balance short term and long term client objectives
• Create and maintain strong and deepening customer relationships
• Create well developed opportunities through strategy leading to a healthy pipeline
• Identify opportunities to up-sell Our Client products

3) Account Administration:
• Ensuring contracts are signed (new customers) and renewed (existing customers)
• Invoicing of work completed
• Updating of spreadsheets and internal management reports
• Providing all manner of reporting to customers

4) Campaign Execution:
• Ensuring campaigns and projects have been briefed to operational teams
• Communicating with internal teams regarding campaigns and projects
• Providing regular and valuable feedback to the client
• Raising any “red flags” and assisting to resolve issues to complete the work

5) Pod Function:
• Work effectively with pod members to achieve the pod’s financial target
• Work effectively with pod members to drive efficiency within the pod creating happy team members and happy clients
• Be the escalation point for team members and assist in resolving matters on client matters
• Be politically aware of both internal and external (client) environments
• Be a positive contributor within the team
• Encouraging, motivate and support the team
• Help set goals and work towards accomplishing them
• Share your knowledge and experience with team members

5) Other
• The Account Manager will be responsible for any other functions that management may require from time to time.

Requirements:
• Post matric qualification (NQF 4 or higher)
• Proven Account Management skills that illustrate creating, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships.
• Experience in a technical environment (technical competence in understanding software, hardware, networks, data flow, etc) is essential.
• Experience in conducting and driving meetings at executive level
• Be able to understand customer requirements and apply strategic thinking to solutions
• Be able to present concepts and proposals to a high level audience
• Be confident to sell him/herself and the company’s capabilities
• Have excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Have excellent administrative skills and be able to multi-task
• Have a proven track record of building healthy customer relationships
• The ability to listen to and successfully interpret the customer's needs
• Previous working experience within an email marketing environment will be an advantage
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport at all times
