Job Description:

The Accountant is responsible to deliver, accurate, timely and complete financial and management accounts and provide financial support and liaise with non-financial project managers and department heads.
Prepare accurate and timely financial and management accounts
Prepare variance analysis reports for management, ensure all variances are understood and corrective action are taken.
Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and correction of imbalances found to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
Provide support and guidance to AP & AR clerks
Prepare weekly debtors & cash flow reports
Timely preparation and submission of VAT & PAYE returns
Responsible for monthly & quarterly revenue forecasting
Assist with preparing departmental budgets
Prepare Investors reporting pack
Assist with external audit including but not limited to prepare audit work papers and liaising with auditors, dealing with queries.
Ensure the continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of all month end processes
Identify any capital expenditure in line with fixed asset policy and ensure correct accounting treatment thereof
Provide financial assistance to operational managers in their decision making processes
Contribute to the implementation of new financial systems and processes
Prepare monthly payroll schedule
Review weekly supplier payment

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree/Advanced Diploma in Accounting
Minimum 2-3 years industry experience in similar position
Experience in management/financial accounting
Excellent system skills and accounting software user
Numeric ability with strong financial, analytical and organizational skills
Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and all other Office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding problem-solving skills
