An affluent, growing Import and Distribution company based in Cape Town is looking for the assistance of a skilled, seasoned Accountant to assist the CFO in the preparation and completion of financial accounts, paying close attention to the debtors and the preparation of monthly debtors’ statements as well.

Qualification:
N.Dip / B.Com in Accounting or similar

Or

Matric and experience

Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of general accounting
SAP – advantageous
Proficient in MS Office and Excel
Good verbal and written communication

Job Description:
Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing monthly debtors’ statements; capturing purchase orders, invoices, landed costs, bank and cash receipts; calculating service commission payable to outsourced distribution and communicating results to relevant accountants; negotiating freight rates with forwarders, freight companies, courier companies, etc.; maintaining complete general ledger and reconciling control accounts; preparation of statutory returns; supervising monthly stock takes; maintaining office petty cash; preparing monthly reports for the board meeting to include Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Accounts, comparison with budget, lists of Debtors and Creditors, Supplier reports, Stock and any other reports required from time to time; assisting the CFO as required.
