To support the business by generating, analysing and reporting financial information to relevant stakeholders in order for the business to make informed business decisions that will result in overall sustainability and profit.
Key Objectives:
1. To generate and report on various financial results to ensure that the business has accurate data to make informed decisions.
2. To ensure that the business adheres to all internal policies and procedures as well as all relevant external legislation and good corporate governance on an ongoing basis.
3. To ensure the costing structure is regularly reviewed to optimise profitability for the business.
4. To support finance in compiling the budget and forecasts; and monitor expenditure against targets to minimise overspend.
5. To manage the petty cash for the business by controlling the float, processing vouchers and ensuring that all related documentation is submitted within the agreed timeframe, in order to replenish the float and ensure business continuity.
6. To liaise with various stakeholders and departments to obtain information, investigate issues identified and facilitate action plans to improve financial performance and profit margins on a weekly and monthly basis
Education :
o BCom Finance degree - essential
Experience:
o 1-2 years experience as an accountant in a related industry in a fast moving & retail operation such as FMCG, food, fashion or automotive after-market products. - essential
o SAP R3 or equivalent – essential
Knowledge:
o Working knowledge of SAP. ( essential/broad)
o Financial accounting principles (essential/broad)
o Cost accounting principles, product costing and analysis (desirable/broad)
o Knowledge of good corporate governance (essential/broad)
o Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting skills ( desirable/broad)
o Working knowledge of reconciliations (essential/broad)
