. Management accounts
• Analysis and reporting of margins as well as inventory and sales related ratios (i.e. stock turnover, breakeven).
• Oversee, co-ordinate and ensure the efficient processing of all financial and inventory related data on a day-to-day basis
• Calculation and reporting of ongoing per-unit overhead costs
• Analyse financial and costing data and interpret data for the purpose of determining financial performance and/or project financial probabilities.
• Detailed analysis of cost of sales percentages


• Ensure management decisions are well within the cost prescriptions.


• Monitor actual expenditure and ensure in line with the budget. Variances are to be reported immediately. The aim should be to identify potential overs on budget and escalate in advance


 • Assembly of Financial Budgets
• Reconciliation and reporting of monthly stock valuations, variances including cause and trend analysis.
• Responsibility over the entire financial function including the management of the financial and inventory administration staff (including bookkeeper; debtor-, creditor- and cash book clerks as well as staff responsible for processing of inventory related transactions).
• Implementation and management of various policies and procedures to improve and/or maintain the efficiency and accuracy of information flows.
• Policy and Procedure knowledge database.
• Measurement and control of financial and operational risks
• Ensure compliance to legal and regulatory accounting laws and standards.
• Analysis of data processing controls and continued implementation of approved improvement solutions
• Regular internal auditing of information flows.
• Monitoring and reporting on spending and effectiveness of financial controls.
• Reporting of management information
• Short and long terms cash flow forecasts
• Cash Management
• Prepare statistical information from management information, which could involve the preparation of graphs to indicate trends within a particular branch, division or department
• Perform tasks that will enable senior management to analyse the position of the company at any particular time period
• Prepare information that may highlight trends within the company, problem areas needing urgent attention or strengths of the company
• Calculate standard costs incurred when producing a product which would involve determining materials required, costing individual materials and aggregating all relevant costs to arrive at the standard cost
• Monitor actual cost and investigate any variances between the standard cost and actual cost
• Monitor overhead costs other than manufacturing costs inclusive of setting up standard costs and monitoring variances with actual costs
• Manage all staff in accordance with company policy and procedure
• Achieve team goals
• Undertake other duties as directed with scope / experience
Creating, implementing and monitoring processes and procedures around the creation of monthly forecasts;


 MINIMUM INHERENT REQUIREMENTS:


• Matric / Grade 12
• BCOM Degree essential Must have completed BCompt/CIMA.


• MS Office Suite; particularly Excel and Outlook
• Astute mathematical and accounting skills
• Knowledge of Income tax and VAT Act
• Knowledge and application of IFRS.
• Cost & Management accounting principles
• Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Management Accountant
• Previous experience working in a wholesale/distribution/retail environment


• Strong financial accounting background and experience essential
