Accounts Clerk

(A) Debtors
Ø Capturing of payments from bank statement
Ø Follow up on outstanding debtors and queries
Ø Printing statements
Ø Calculation and reporting of debtor’s days
Ø Filing
Ø Sending invoices & POD’s to customers
(B) Sundry Debtors
Ø Create invoices on Excel
Ø Keep a summary of all invoices created
Ø Follow up on payment of these invoice
Ø Do journal in GL to record the invoice on Syspro
(C) Creditors
Ø Matching and capturing of invoices
Ø Checking invoices are VAT compliant
Ø Completion of creditors recons
Ø Follow up on queries
Ø Capturing of payments from bank statement
Ø Filing
Ø Preparation of payment requisitions For COD suppliers, as and when required.
Ø For 30 day account suppliers, only once a month.
Ø Arranging for payment to be made
(D) Cashbook
Ø Capturing of all payments and withdrawals except foreign creditors payments for the current account as well as the CFC account.
Ø Filing
(E) Petty Cash
Ø Issue Petty Cash vouchers and money
Ø Balance and reimburse petty cash
Ø Process petty cash journal
(F) Commission Received
Ø Print and file all documentation related to commission
Ø Received
Ø Update commission received spreadsheet
Ø Process commission received in cashbook
(G) Credit Card Recons
Ø File credit card statements together with slips


(H) Cell phones
Ø Save cell phone statements / invoices on the server
Ø Get it approved by the relevant employee
Ø Complete cell phone expense analysis spreadsheet
Ø Process payment through cashbook
(I) General
Ø Accounts Receivable trial balance to Nedbank
Ø Assist Financial manager with accounts of cafeteria
Ø To assist colleagues with any reasonable request
Ø Recording of exchange rates on server
Ø Assisting auditors

Qualification/Skills
• High school diploma generally required with accounting as a subject (any degree or diploma in accounting will be to your advantage)
• Knowledge of computers and relevant software application (Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint / Syspro experience will be to your advantage)
