An ACTUARIAL ASSISTANT – (Retirements) is needed in the Southern suburb, Western Cape. This is a strictly EE position and the suitable candidate will be responsible for:
• Performing many intricate aspects of the client work
• Contributing to the team’s activities across a portfolio of actuarial consulting clients involving all aspects of advice
• Performing actuarial valuations of pension, provident and benefit funds. These funds may be defined benefit or defined contribution in nature
• Performing valuations of client company liabilities (such as post-retirement medical aid schemes, share options, etc) in terms of relevant legislation or guidance notes
• Calculation of member reserve values on both individual and group bases
• Project work on the conversation of retirement funds to defined contribution and similar exercises
• Liaise effectively with colleagues and clients regarding data collection, analyses, and project execution
• Prepare the first draft of deliveries for review by the consultant
• Assist other consultants with any relevant retirement and investment consulting issues
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Bachelors Degree required with actuarial specialisation
• At least two years valuation experience
• Applicants do not have to be registered with ASSA
Salary is dependent on experience
