Reporting to the Head of the General Insurance practice and providing actuarial & technical assistance to the internal employees and/ or clients.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the General/ short-term Insurance industry
Experience with SAM, ORSA’s, reserving and solvency valuations
Qualified or nearly qualified actuary
Strong actuarial technical skills
Good communication skills
Strong work ethic and highly motivated
Ability to work to a deadline and give regular feedback on progress
May be required to travel from time to time

Manage actuarial team
Managing work allocation, mentoring actuarial staff
Achieving key performance indicators
Ensuring quality control procedures are adhered to and maintained
Maintain and improve client relationships
Provide technical advice to General Insurance clients on all areas (including reserving, SAM, solvency, FCR’s, ORSA, pricing, Head of Actuarial Control, etc.)
Meeting and exceeding team’s income budget
Supporting Head of General Insurance Practice
Membership of Actuarial Society of South Africa committees/ sub-committees
Participating in R and D programme, seminars or conferences
Participating in marketing exercises and assisting with tenders
Maintaining and developing knowledge of the client markets/ countries
Keeping up to date with General Insurance practice and CPD for Southern Africa
