Actuarial Consultant

VARIOUS ACTUARIAL POSITIONS IN GAUTENG AND THE WESTERN CAPE. PLEASE ENQUIRE ABOUT THE OTHER POSITIONS

• Monthly data checks and reconciliations and model point files
• Assist with DCS and Prophet modelling
• Produce quarterly policy movements
• Assist with profit and reserve calculations
• Assist with producing monthly profit, VNB and updated forecasts
• Assist with completing FSCA and other statutory reporting requirements
• Assist with preparing annual budgets and other management reporting requirements as required
• Maintenance and improvement of valuation models
• Assist with ad-hoc projects

Qualifications and Knowledge

• Actuarial degree
• Minimum of 4 CT exams
• Preference will be given to individual life valuation experience
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with Prophet would be an advantage

Competencies

• Strong PC skills (especially Excel) are essential
• Proficiency in DCS will be preferred
• Knowledge of MS Access will be an advantage
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Analysis of results from models
• Good technical expertise
• Ability to work well within a team
• Quality and detail orientation and concern for accuracy
• Ability to cope with tight deadlines
