Min requirements – Education & Experience
• Grade 12
• BSc Actuarial Science
• Good progress with actuarial exams; min 5 CT exams completed
Business understanding
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience
• Advanced experience in Prophet is a must , Excel, VBA, SQL, Access and Qlikview will be
an advantage
• Experience in Technical solutions
• Experience of the retail and group risk market
• Long Term Insurance specifically valuation experience is essential
Knowledge and skills
• Excellent technical and actuarial skills
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail. Problem solving
• Programming experience is advantageous. Prioritize and manage several tasks
• High degree of self-motivation; can work independently & in a team

Main Responsibilities:
• Oversight and review of the monthly and annual valuation of the group and retail business. Understanding and reporting of the results of the valuation from a business perspective. Assist with building tools for valuation purposes
• Assistance with experience investigations
• Assistance with the delivery of requirements (including reporting, technical support, models, forecasting etc.) for the Actuarial and Specialist Services team. Monthly management reports. Data management to enhance management reporting
• Analyses and tools to record company profitability, new business and retention Review of the profitability levels achieved for new and existing products. Assist with profit testing and capital requirements for new products and product updates. Monitor product performance against expectations
• Development of tools and reports to monitor and report on strategies and results;
• Support Risk and Compliance in respect of IFRS17, SAM and ORSA development. Review & management of reinsurance agreements and retentions, including building tools and reports
• Technical support to claims and underwriting team to assist with the development of tools to ensure better recording and monitoring or processes, efficiencies, and financial effectiveness.
Support wrt any other technical, actuarial and analytical work
