EE Position

Within the Corporate Actuarial team. Provide guidance and technical expertise in terms of all aspects of Permanent Health Insurance (PHI) claims in the group risk space. Various modelling exercises are performed to extract maximum information from data to ensure a better understanding of claim trends and processes.

Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science with good progress with the Core Technical actuarial exams
2-3 years’ experience related to valuations, including group risk pricing

Understanding of life insurance principles, practices and procedures, especially reserving
Advanced MS Excel & VBA knowledge

Collecting & cleaning of data from various sources
Liaising with IT to correct / improve data & processes
Building / refining models used to analyse trends in data
Calculating IBNR reserves
Back-testing of models for calibration purposes
Liaising at all levels with colleagues from other departments to improve understanding of market trends
Assisting with the operational efficiencies within the claims assessment area
Ensure that all queries and problems are resolved effectively and appropriately
Provide a professional service that promotes and enhances own function and delivery
