We are seeking a well-groomed Registered Nurse with geriatric experience to join this private aged care facility in the Southern Suburbs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Do morning handover according to ISBAR procedure with Duty Sister on night shift
• Ensure all reporting is up to date for handover and all information checked when receiving handover
• Allocate staff on shift according to patient needs and operational requirements
• Delegate specific tasks and information from the handover process
• Change staff allocation throughout the shift according to changes in needs and requirements
• Ensure all blister packaged medication is available on the trolley and medication no longer prescribed is removed from blister pack
• Check all scripts and cupboards for any medication, not in blister packs
• Prepare liquid medication and injections as per script
• Do rounds, check for sufficient consumption and administer all medication to residents as per the scripts

Requirements:

• Must be SANC registered as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in Dementia care, frail care, palliative care, sub-acute, strokes
• Must have at least 2 – 3 years geriatric or medical experience.
• Need to be well presented and well-spoken.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication.
• Ability to work under pressure.
