Seeking a well experienced Unit Manager to take the overall responsibility for an advanced Aged Care Facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report to Nursing Services Manager daily and via set reporting weekly
• Attend relevant management and clinical education programmes
• Address ongoing clinical skills and training needs within the facility with staff and inform Training Manager
• Attend and supervise the nursing handover procedure daily as per the policy
• Be aware of all resident information exchanged during handover
• Supervise implementation of infection control procedures during any outbreak or suspected infection occurring
• Prepare reports and submissions in line with responsibilities such as the weekly report on the facility to the Nursing Services Manager
• Manage available resources efficiently

Applicants for this position must :

• Registered with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
• At least 5-10 years of experience in nursing.
• Experience in geriatrics advantageous,
• Informed knowledge on Dementia and Alzheimers disease, frail care, palliative care, strokes.
• Experience in a similar leadership position highly advantageous, recent hospital experience
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, managerial skills, making sound decisions.
• Computer literate
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English,
