Agile/SCRUM Master – Braamfontein + Pretoria Based (Site Based)
To start by 01 August 2019 or sooner depending on notice period
One of the top Software Development companies in South Africa are currently looking for Agile/SCRUM Masters to join their fast growing team. MUST HAVE A BSC COMPUTER SCIENCE DEGREE TO APPLY!
Salary: R45 000 – R55 000 CTC per month depending on experience

Requirements:
Matric
All relevant (previous and current) certified academic transcripts i.e. not proof of qualification, but the specific transcript (MUST ACCOMPANY CV)
BSC COMPUTER SCIENCES DEGREE – MUST HAVE (NON-NEGOTIABLE) preferably from UP; UJ; Wits or NWU
Certified Scrum Master or equivalent certification such as PMI-ACP
Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least 3 years for a software development team that was diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
Own Transport
Comfortable with extensive travel (4-5 days/week)

Duties include, but are not limited to:
In Agile, the Scrum Master is a challenging position as s/he cares about the team functionality. Scrum Master is responsible for monitoring the scrum processes and scrum meetings. S/He increases the team efficiency, motivates the team, spins, and argues for changes that will ensure quality and timelines are being followed.
Guiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organisation.
Guiding the team on self-organising to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.
Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
Supporting and educating the Product Owner/Business, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Providing all support to the team and leading by example.
