Our client, in the agricultural industry, requires the service of an Agricultural Advisor

Key performance areas:

? Provide advisory and support services to agricultural community in terms of livestock and grain farming
? Advise on and promote sustainable grain and livestock production systems
? Identify farm management and production problems as well as technical requirements of farming diversifications
? Handle general grain, livestock and economic-related enquiries from farmers
? Collect, process and analyse financial study group data and provide feedback to study group and industry
? Planning of and involvement in farming community activities and advisory to relevant organisations
? General administration (record keeping and reporting)

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a B.Sc Agriculture or B.Agric degree with specialisation in agricultural economics and animal or grain production.
? 2 Years agricultural experience in an advisory capacity
? Excellent computer literacy
? A pro-active approach with excellent people skills
? Must be assertive, tenacious, confident and resilient
? Must have and excellent work ethic
? Good communication skills in both Afrikaans and English
? Good facilitation skills and a strongly developed network
? Willing to work overtime when required
? Must be willing to work independently and with limited supervision
? Be able to do research and interpret information and to make recommendations to farmers
? Must have a valid driver’s license with own reliable transport
