Job Description:

Conduct field research for between 30-40 trails per season.
Conduct main research activities at various locations as directed.
Conduct trial activities in terms of predetermined protocols as directed by the Research Department.
Identify possible trial venues and, if required, travel to these venues to perform trial work.
Conduct training and talks on new and existing products.
Use own initiative in seeking out new product possibilities without prejudicing current research activities.
Liaison with relevant persons for the use of trial venue/s i.e. Regional Managers, Farmers and Agents.
Drafting appropriate literature in respect of research work carried out.
Participate in Technical Conferences and meetings.
Compilation of trial reports.
Analysis of trial data and making future recommendations.
Following trial protocols when conducting trials and when collecting residues.
Assess needs in the region and help the company develop solutions in the industry.
Participate in annual trial planning.
Present trial results at annual Technical conference.
Organize visits to trial venues for Regional Managers, representative and/or interested parties.
Assist the Marketing Manager in providing data for incorporation into promotional materials.

Qualifications:

Matric.
Minimum of B.Sc Agric or B.Tech in Horticulture/Agronomy or equivalent.
AVCASA certificate advantageous.
Working knowledge in the production of vegetables, grapes, cereals and pomme fruit.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in doing registration trials.
Must possess good report writing skills.
Knowledge of agrochemicals is required and knowledge of the Nulandis product would be advantageous.
Must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Excel and relevant trial reporting system.
Must be in possess of a valid driver’s license and own transport.
