Our client requires an Agricultural Economist that can provide strategic input to stake holders

Key performance areas:

? Introduce geographical diversity to avoid/mitigate supply risk
? Develop & implement initiatives to remove seasonality associated with agricultural commodities
? Optimize the agricultural supply chain considering manufacturing & sourcing footprint, various permutations of integration & appropriate partnerships & logistics
? Develop & deliver the procurement budget associated with agricultural commodities
? Access, monitor and consider pricing trends (globally & locally) to inform procurement mandates to respective agricultural fieldsmen
? Develop appropriate pricing & reporting mechanisms to proactively capitalize on favorable pricing movements and mitigate risks associated with adverse pricing movements
? Work closely with other supply chain and agricultural personnel to achieve the optimum business results

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a relevant qualification
? 5 years experience in similar position, dealing with similar commodities
? Previous exposure to the Meat and fruit industry would be an advantage
? Strong computer skills – Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint
? Good organizational and planning skills
? Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
