RedCat Recruitment is seeking an AGRICULTURAL ENGINEER – position based in the Pietermaritzburg area.


REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12.
Valid driver’s license.
BSc Agricultural Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
2 -10 years of relevant previous working experience.
Must be ECSA Registered (Pr Eng.).
Good working knowledge of soil science, agricultural economics and software development.
Must be prepared to work in the field as well as in the office.
Duties include all aspects of Agricultural Engineering, with an emphasis on the following:
- design, installation and management of irrigation schemes.
- design of runoff management and soil conservation structures.
- design of agricultural structures and roads.
- design and management of agro-processing facilities.
- design of agricultural power and energy systems.
- agricultural potential assessments and feasibility studies.
- water resource assessments and yield analysis
- design flood hydrology and hydraulic modelling for flood line estimation
- crop yield modelling
- preparation of design reports and contract documents
- supervision and management of construction
