The incumbent will be responsible for all scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical and avionics maintenance on company owned aircraft. The aircraft this position will be responsible for maintaining is an ERJ135LR. We are looking for a team player who is comfortable with hands on maintenance duties direct supervision of maintenance technician as well as back office administrative duties.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the maintenance of company aircraft including but not limited to inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing all parts of aircraft mechanical and avionics systems
Maintain maintenance schedules for the aircraft and document maintenance findings, progress and work completed via manual and automated recordkeeping systems
Plan and delegate tasks. Supervise mechanic to ensure high level of productivity and quality
Coordinate with Pilots to analyze and correct malfunction write-ups and squawks
Supervise and coordinate 3rd party maintenance and documentation
Coordinate with FBO for service requirements
Supervise Refueling, defuel, services oxygen, and replenish aircraft fluids
Approve aircraft for return to service after scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
Supervise cleansing and maintenance all tools, equipment and hanger work stations
Supervise aircraft detailing, towing, and other ground servicing
Maintain and update aircraft maintenance manuals and other publications
Maintain and update aircraft navigation databases
Procure and maintain inventory of spares, parts, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, and other necessary items
To act as mentor to personnel assigned to him, sign all relevant training documents as the training officer.
Ensure communications WRT progress, team members and tasks/situations to management
Travel on designated flights as a flight crew member when needed
High level of customer service, working with all levels of leadership, employees, and customers is required
During aircraft technician leave of absence during a peak operational flight period, you will be required to personally conduct maintenance tasks
In addition to the above you may be required to perform all reasonable duties assigned to you or related to the proper completion of your job tasks

Job Requirements

Degree in engineering or related field. Five years of corporate turbine or equivalent class jet aircraft maintenance experience (ERJ 135/145 a plus)
Must hold a current and valid A&P Certificate
Inspector Authorization (IA) preferred
Must poses a current Passport and Driver’s License

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Parts 91, 23, 25, and applicable FAA and SACAA regulations
Practical understanding of technical resources for aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting
Flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required
Familiarity with CAMP Systems (or equivalent) maintenance management software
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be self-motivated and able to work well solo or on a team

Physical Demands & Work Environment.

The Lead Aircraft Technician will work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, in industrial, administrative, and aviation environments. Workplace safety is of paramount importance. Environment includes exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, and includes exposure to industrial machinery, chemicals, petroleum products, fumes and dust.
Dutiesmay be strenuous, require stamina over extended time periods, and sound decision making under stressful conditions. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule as required to accommodate operational needs. Working outside normal business hours is expected to be routine.
Must be able to lift loads of up to 50 pounds, climb stairs on a daily basis, work at heights up to 20 feet off the ground when equipped with safety gear, able to work long periods on their feet, and have physical mobility required to maneuver through all areas of the aircraft in association with maintenance tasks.
