YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Regular analysis of all management and financial data to manage the branch airfreight team.
• Pro-active projection of volume and resource requirements to ensure adequate resource allocation and operational performance.
• Monitoring the performance of the team and the sections within these teams results and provide reports of the performance where necessary.
• Proactively cooperate with National Management and East London Branch Management in order to further improve productivity, provide customer satisfaction and implement airfreight strategy.
• Taking responsibility for the day to day running of operations whilst implementing company policy decisions internally as well as reviewing quality procedures.
• Ensuring accurate implementation and understanding of company products and Strategies.
• Assume responsibility on accurate implementation of new and existing business.
• Maintaining a customer centric operational environment conducive to customer and employee satisfaction.
• Working closely with Internal and external stakeholders in order to develop new business and support customer interactions.
• Supporting vertical development strategies and requirements.
• Maintaining the discipline required and ensure those disciplines are met at all times with regard to operating performance, timekeeping and holiday arrangements of the team.
• Ensuring the implementation of new business within the business unit and ensure that the performance handling is running smoothly and is measured.
• Ensure that customer satisfaction is achieved by solving problems efficiently in coordination with the team.
• Monitoring and ensure that quality provided by third party sub-contractors meets our customer requirements.
• Ensuring cost controlling in the case of Supplier/ Subcontractor invoices.
• Managing profitability on a shipment level as well as rate increases.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
• Matric Certificate is essential.
• Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Business Management is essential for this position.
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant leadership experience within the International Freight, Transportation and Logistics industry.
• Proven track record with excellent skills in business management.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Ability to apply business principles and procedures to work assignments.
• Proven ability to analyse data and explain complex financial information.
• Proven problem solving skills.
• Good business understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must have time management skills and be deadline-driven.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence credibly and effectively at all levels.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Highly motivated and a self-starter.
• Effective time-management skills.
• Have proven verbal and written communications skills in English.
• Advanced level of computer literacy (especially Excel) and ability to learn new software with ease.
• Ability to manage a team and be a team player.
• Candidates must be South African citizens or hold applicable work permits to work in the country.
