Purpose of the job Is to analyse, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time; cost and quality targets for Compass/Compass Interfacing systems.

Key responsibilities:

* Execute services within agreed SLA’s
* Translate business requirements into system requirements
* Ensure accuracy of code and adherence to requirements
* Ensure system quality and sustainability * Adhere to Liberty governance procedures
* Liaise with Users, Business Analysts and Support staff.
* Provide written and verbal feedback to users, team members and management * Ensure production changes are managed within the release cycle * Ensure business unit satisfaction
* Ensure end user performance by implementing initiatives to improve system performance
* Provide subject matter expert advice for applications under Engaging the portfolio * Assist in the development of key standards
* Proactively identify and manage risks

Key requirements

Qualifications
* A minimum of Matric
* A programming diploma or bachelors degree in computer science will be an advantage
* 5 years experience in programming

Experience At least 3 – 5 years experience in the following:
* Oracle suite SQL and PL/SQL
* Cobol (Microfocus Cobol advantageous)
* System analysis and design experience including services design
* Knowledge and Experience on the Compass system Preferred but not essential:
* Oracle Reports and Forms
* Unix *
MQ Series
* Mainframe natural and JCL
* Exposure or experience on the Compass system
* Experience in the insurance industry

Knowledge * Planning methods and techniques
* Testing methodologies
* Data access techniques
* Debugging tools
* Broad IT knowledge and discipline specific knowledge * Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycles processes
