Position Purpose The Business Intelligence Developer will administer all forms of data flow through the stages of extraction, transformation and loading into the organisation data warehouse. Building new data structures, load programs, meta data layers (includes multi-dimensional cubes) and reports that meet organisationâ??s Business Intelligence needs. Principal Accountabilities

In addition to following organization’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Database (Warehouse/Relational) Management and Development

  • Develop, enhance and mature the databases
  • Undertake database optimization and performance management
  • Continuous optimization and refinement of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) packages
  • Develop new ETL packages as per growing business needs
  • Ensure a 24/7 365 database uptime

 

Data and Information Management

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of data
  • Constantly validate data integrity
  • Derive and implement gold standard “source to fact” traceability
  • Derive and implement data management architecture changes
  • Enhance and mature meta data schemas, cubes and repositories

 

 Database (Warehouse/Relational) Governance and Security

  • Continuously upgrade databases to latest versions
  • Continuously implement database patches and threat management
  • Define and implement database user access controls
  • Define and implement database governance controls and policies
  • Recommend system vulnerabilities to the system consultants /outsourced partners

 

Database (Warehouse/Relational) Backup and Restore

  • Ensure all databases are fully backed-up
  • Continuously test database backup and restore process
  • Manage and participate in data/database projects and drive innovation within the ERP and Analytics function of IT (10%)
  • Enhance, upgrade and modify existing dashboards and reports to meet business needs (5%)

 Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ database (warehouse / relational) administration experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with SSIS and SSAS
  • Qlik and /or Other BI Packages experience
  • SAP system experience
  • Analysis and Problem Solving
  • Database Architectures/Topologies
