ICT Enterprise Application Manager Transactional Systems

Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the Information & Communications Technology Department based in Stellenbosch. This position will report to the Group ICT Enterprise Application Manager.

Purpose of the position:
The Enterprise Application (Transactional Systems) Manager is responsible for the management of all transactional applications with regards to the design, development, implementation, maintenance and support during the complete system lifecycle.

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:
  • Actively manage the roadmaps for all relevant applications;
  • Assist with prioritization and plan demand with ICT Projects Office and Business Relationship teams;
  • Investigate and advise on application options and trends;
  • Design and implement application solutions that meet business demand;
  • User Support management for 3rd and 4th level support within SLA;
  • Manage the adopted framework for application management into all guidelines, standards, policies and procedures;
  • Manage application performance and the availability of critical components initiating corrective action where required;
  • Manage portfolio of 3rd party applications and associated service agreements;
  • Support a business focused culture within ICT.

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification;
  • An analytical thinker with at least 5 years of experience in a relevant management field;
  • A solid knowledge and understanding of basic ICT principles, Information Systems and Technology management;
  • Good knowledge and exposure to the SAP software suite;
  • Good knowledge of database structures and general database management;
  • Good understanding of COBIT principles;
  • Good understanding of Application Change Management and BCP principles;
  • Proven people management, leadership and facilitation skills;
  • Sound project management abilities;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong administrative ability with high attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
