Well-established concern requires an Application Manager in Sandton.
 
Requirements:
  • NQF Level 7: Graduate Degree
  • University Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Postgraduate qualification in Information Technology advantageous
  • 5 Years + experience team leadership/management experience
  • 7 Years + experience at manager level within the field of Sage and BI reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of the Sage ERP and CRM
  • Knowledge in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing
  • Great communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong programming skills
  • After hours work may be required for the release of new functionality on the databases or during resolution of critical incidents
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license and own transport
 
Duties (including but not limited to):
  • Implement best practice processes, vendor management and tools to provide the highest level of service, ensuring continuous service improvements are undertaken through appropriate business analysis and project performance
  •  
  • Monitor and maintain interfaces on Sage, Lottery and other Sub-systems
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other IT teams within the company to share resources and maintain a shared, cohesive, technological direction as identified by the MIS Manager
  • Ensure the IT staff is effectively following ITIL based processes and procedures
  • Track and report the status of IT related projects, acting as a gateway through which work should be assigned to appropriate IT staff while ensuring that scope of work is adequately focused and defined
  • Lead the analysis of complex data using a variety of IT tools and work with Business Intelligence team to prepare analytics reports and dashboard on Sales performance as per user and management requirements
  • Ensure that applications are sufficiently monitored using specialized software to ensure maximum efficiency, early detection of pending issues, and to minimum outages. Coordinates the timely resolution of performance issues or outage conditions
  • Evolve the existing systems, applications, programs and their related architecture as needed. Lead the analysis and present recommendations for both hardware and software solutions for existing and future programs or initiatives of the company
  • Provide cost effective systems development services for small systems and where appropriate utilize Agile development processes through the use of internal or vendor resources
  • Leadership and management of team members
  • Management of 3rd party service providers and vendors including supplier relationship management
  • Resolution of issues raised during User Acceptance Testing sessions
  • Coordination with Key users and other teams for issue resolutions and getting sign-off for release before moving  to production
  • Support end users in existing & changing requirements of business applications 
  • Assists users in aligning business process with application
