Purpose of the role:
An aviation company is looking for applicants for an Application support specialist, based in Cape Town, Western Cape. This position is required to provide support to all system users by administering all Open Jaw System Applications in accordance with Travel related IT systems and business requirements

Main Functions:
• To manage Location Hierarchy in order to map product brackets to relevant locations.
• To manage XHotel, XCar, XEvent, XPromotion location and supplier Mapping and ensure correct product and content is displayed on search.
• To administer XDistribution rules to ensure correct pricing is applied to product and the desired product combinations are returned on a search.
• To monitor system performance and stability, identify trends and present solutions and enhancements.
• To take ownership of the x- res agent product to ensure it provides the desired functionality and is thoroughly tested.
• To take responsibility for testing any enhancements and changes to the system to ensure working functionality.
• To provide such reports to management as directed from time to time in order to reflect system performance.
• To ensure continuous liaison with all relevant stakeholders and 3rd parties.
• To manage system risk by identifying issues, logging bugs, raising development tasks in trello and verifying development fixes.
• To ensure continuous improvement of systems, processes and skills in an area of accountability.

Requirements:
• Grade 12 (Essential),
• A minimum Tertiary Qualification in software/web development, business/systems analysis or database design course (Desirable)
• 3 years’ experience covering the following (Essential):
• SQL Processing
• IT application support experience which includes system processing, troubleshooting, and system analysis
• Experience with a business user interface for a front-facing web application
• Additional years of experience (Desirable)
• Experience in working with Agile (Desirable)
