Requirements:
- Degree or diploma and relevant experience within an agency or in-house creative department.
- A minimum of one to five years of experience as studio head or AD/CD.
- Strong portfolio of packaging, branding and marketing design.
- Excellent understanding of design, print and repro.
- An understanding of online, especially content management for Wordpress and Magento.
- Copywriting and editing.
- Photography.
- CPA knowledge relevant to packaging.
- Project & time management stills.
- Experience working with multinationals.
- Development skills whereby you can design and build websites.
- Understanding of AdWords, SEO and analytics.
Duties:
- Creating briefs for the designers.
- Managing the design team and maintaining the quality of design work and visual communication
- Must being able to answer design related questions, teach and mentor the designers where needed, including tracking performance, leave, sick leave and hiring new talent, and managing freelancers.
- Liaising between the offices in South Africa and abroad and be responsible for the creative assets required by our clients, in-house accounts and sales teams.
- Managing workflow of department and allocate work for completion to deadlines and priority.
- Liaising with local / global partners / colleagues to meet design or graphic requirements.
- Administration for design department, including collating and maintaining filing.
- Maintaining brand identity and integrity across a range of brands.
- Directly assisting clients where needed – design, images, presentations, etc.
- Obtaining quotes for a variety of print requirements including the creation of display units and stands.
- Design including, but not limited to: packaging, display stands, presentations, POS and various marketing materials (ABTL and BTL).
- Working with product developer (based in South African and China) to ensure all packaging and instruction manuals are CPA compliant and relevant to product.
- Art Buying and managing stock accounts, submitting invoices to CFO and partners, etc.
- Ensuring the print readiness of all artwork submitted to print.
- Photography where needed of product, this includes retouching as well as CYMK and online corrections.
- Overseeing production and content for the Company’s websites,
- Checking products before they enter into final production and much more.
