The primary role of the Asset Management Consultant is to provide systemic and technical leadership for the overall asset management programmes in order to enable high long term plant/asset productivity, reliability and utilisation at the lowest cost.
Qualifications:
• Diploma/BSc: Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
• Minimum of 8 years work experience with 3 to 5 years spent at management level in a operational or a technical role in an asset management environment.
• Previous line management experience an added advantage
• Deep understanding of Packaging Operations, processes and systems.
• Deep understanding of Asset Management and OEM Partnering.
• A good understanding of Supply Chain.
• Understanding of Project Management
• A good understanding of Safety, Health and Environment which includes Sustainable Development.
Duties:
• Provide technical leadership and support to Regional execution teams in terms of asset management strategy, framework and technology to enable the implementation of business strategies to leverage equipment, productivity, reliability and maintainability, thereby enabling high plant availability and utilisation at lowest cost.
• Support and co-ordinate the development and deployment of the asset management strategy.
• Support and co-ordinate the development of maintenance budgets to support the objectives of the asset management strategy.
• Benchmark maintenance spend to ensure productivity and alignment with best practice standards.
• Support the disciplined execution of standard work practices at both the regional and the divisional level.
• Is the process owner and subject matter expert for the SAP Planned maintenance module
• Coordinate a Community of Practice on SAP PM Development and utilisation
• Lead the country wide endeavours for asset management excellence.
• Provide specialist asset management support.
• Ensure that predictive maintenance techniques are implemented correctly.
• Implement asset management system audits to evaluate data integrity.
• Drive, develop and coordinate Manufacturing capability development programmes to support the needs of the performance and improvement objectives, including:
• Technical Skill Development needs at frontline and management levels.
• The identification and development of new capabilities to support the performance and productivity plans
• Support packaging performance improvement by conducting and leading performance optimisation initiatives.
• Define, maintain and improve packaging standards.
• Provide problem solving support to regional packaging when required
• Co-ordinate shared learning’s and the identification of best practices where required
• Conduct asset management compliance audits and provide recommendations for improvement
• Support packaging skills development programs and capacity building Initiatives.
• Evaluate and recommend/support regional capital expenditure requests.
