A well known hotel in the North West is currently looking for an Assistant Banqueting Manager.Requirements Include:2 years minimum progressive experience in Banquet/CateringMust work weekends, holidays, and be flexible to work AM/PM shifts according to business demandsMust have extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standardsLong hours sometimes requiredMinimum 2 years of prior management/supervisory experience, ideally in Food and Beverage and/or BanquetsIdeal candidate will have:Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with guestsGood written and strong verbal communication skillsAbility to anticipate guest needs and resolve any and all guest challengesComputer skills including Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to work under pressureInterpersonal skills to provide overall guest satisfactionAbility to communicate effectively with the public and other associatesKnowledge of physical capabilities of banquet space, basic bar terminology, wine service and food displayResponsibilities and Duties Include:Utilizes established controls and systems to ensure all financial goals are met, services standards are executed consistent, and product and equipment offerings are according to specificationsAssists in selecting, training, supervising, developing, disciplining, scheduling and counseling associates in accordance with the hotel’s policies and proceduresAssists in the oversight of all Break Service and Banquet OperationsEnsure all Food and Beverage associates are in full compliance of the hotel’s policies and proceduresAttends pre and post-convention meetings as requiredAssist in the resolution all procedural and convivial challenges inter-departmentallyAssists in creating staffing schedules to meet the expectations of the assigned functionsMeet with the Culinary, Conference and Catering teams to confirm any and all special service needs for all group functionsAssists with ensuring open and effective communication flows through the department by insuring information is shared with the Banquet Manager and the Assistant Banquet Manager, Captains and SupervisorsAssist in monthly inventory, collection of payments and ordering of suppliesAssist in conducting service and product training within the department on a regular basis, general maintenance and cleanliness throughout all meetings and functions spaces is executed dailyComplete all assignments on time, accurately and to the specifications as required and requestedAttend departmental meetings as requested or assignedAssist in monitoring and minimizing all expenses including overtimeEnsure all associates are aware of proper safety, fire and health proceduresAssist in maintaining personnel files on all Banquet and Convention Services associates and ensure they are updated, including evaluations, late/absent reports, written warnings, etc.Perform additional duties as assignedIf you have not heard from us within 2 weeks, consider your application unsuccessful
