Job Purpose:

Strategically lead and manage the research and innovation division of the Faculty of Business and Management
Sciences.
Ensure that the Faculty strategic goals 2015-2019 and the Vision 2020 of the University are realized.
Design with HODs and HOS the research methodology subjects to be offered at 3rd year of ND, for BTech and
postgraduate programmes. Increase and management the postgraduate students in the Faculty to be at least a 1000 by
2019
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Doctoral Qualification in any Business Management or Social Sciences discipline relevant to the Faculty
At least 10 years' teaching experience including supervision of postgraduate students at university level
A minimum of 10 Articles in accredited journals
Supervised a minimum of 5 postgraduate students
NRF rating
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:

Lead and manage the research portfolio of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences
Develop and implement the research strategy, policies and rules of engagement for efficient and effective research
administration
Ensure effective monitoring and performance evaluation of the Unit for Research and Innovation
Ensure that the Faculty Strategic Plan 2013-2019 is achieved
Work with the Associate Dean and Unit for Academic Planning and Quality Assurance to ensure that all the Faculty's
postgraduate qualifications are in line with the new HEQF.
Provide excellent customer services to all postgraduate student s and staff from admission to graduation
Provide leadership and management of university resources in an ethical manner
Increase 3rd stream income through research and innovation promotion
Increase the number of NRF research Chairs
Conduct efficient and effective academic administration in a professional manner
Participate in Faculty committees and University s' strategic projects
Initiate and engage in sustainable internationalization programs
Promote the Faculty internationally
Ensure that the Faculty journal is accredited
Manage and annually ensure the improvement of research outputs of the School/Department
Ensure that each staff member published a minimum of one article a year
Publishing articles in accredited journals at least 1 article per year
Publishing text or academic books
Increase the number of staff with doctoral degrees
Increase and retain staff with NRF ratings
Improve pass rates and throughputs rates of the School/ Department
Implement University's Teaching and Learning Strategy as well as Teaching Charter
