My Client a National Hotel Group is recruiting for a Assistant Front Office Manager for their Sandton Hotel.Scope and General Purpose:To assist and deputies in the absence of the Front Office Manager; the Management and Operations of the Front Office Department, and to ensure that the standards as laid down by the company policies and procedures are implemented & adhered to, in order to achieve the highest occupancy percentage at the best possible average room rate.
To provide the best possible standard in service to all guests that is inline with Legacy Hotels and Resorts’ Policies and Procedures as well as Leading Hotels of the World Standards.
Requirements:
Minimum Grade 12 (Matric)Recognised 3 year tertiary qualification in the Hospitality industry will be an advantageAt least 2 year’s experience as an Assistant Front Office Manager in a similar 4 or 5 Star HotelExceptionally fluent in EnglishHigh Level of computer literacy with emphasis on Opera & Microsoft OfficeWell developed leadership, training and communication skillsGood business acumen with competent financial understandingWell developed negotiation skillsWell developed Administration and analytical skills & attention to detailAbility to create a strong team climateAbility to work shifts and occasional overtime
Other Attributes / Requirements as a Strong Recommendation:
Conversational ability in a third official language and / or a European language an advantage
Key Result Areas (Frequent Tasks):
To assist the Front Office Manager and to take operational responsibility for all aspects of Reservations, Reception, Concierge and SwitchboardTo assist the Front Office Manager in scheduling team members to ensure the correct level of coverageOversee and maintain departmental handover proceduresEnsure strict control over all procedures involving cash, billing, room allocation and record keepingTo assist the Front Office Manager in reviewing departmental performance against the objectives set.To assist the Front Office Manager in the selection of team members, training and performance management.Assist with maximizing of occupancy levels.To maintain a high standard of personal service with all customers, internal and external as well as public areas surpassing those as set out by The Hotel Group as well as Leading Hotels of the World Standards.To manage & control daily revenues and to report any deviations, irregularities to revenue and VAT accruals to the Rooms Division Manager and rectify accordingly.
To be fully aware of the trends in the industry and make suggestions for the improvement of the running of the Front Desk.
Infrequent Tasks:
Assist the Front Office Manager with the supervision of the department.Represent the department in management meetings.Assist with the formulation of the departmental budget and financial reporting.
Reporting To: Front Office Manager and Rooms Division Manager
