ASSISTANT MANAGER POSITION available with Supermarket Chain Group that is seeking an experienced 2IC to join their team in Athlone, Cape Town. We are looking for an individual that has in depth experience in managing several Service Departments within a Supermarket store.

The duties will include maximising sales while minimizing expenses through effective people management and implementation of all company policies, standards and procedures. You will be required to work long retail hours as expected of you, including Weekends and Public Holidays.

Main duties and responsibilities:
- Serve as 2IC to the Store Manager
- Manage Service Departments
- Increase store sales and profitability
- Control expenses and costs
- Stock management
- Effective people management
- Security awareness
- Excellent customer services
- Administrative duties including profit and loss understanding

Skills and Experience required:
- Must have matric
- Minimum of 3 years’ retail supermarket management experience
- Must have Service Department background and experience
- Essential to have good Communication Skills, Human Relations Skills, and Negotiating Skills
- Be Proactive with good Problem Solving Skills
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to use Outlook, Ms Word and Excel

Salary: R15,000 CTC per month
