Assistant Manager/Receptionist and guide couple required for 5* game lodge in Mpumalanga Assistant Manager/Receptionist VOCATIONAL DUTIES: To maintain a clean, tidy and hygienic work environment.To deal with telephone calls and written communications.To provide customer information and book external services.To store and handle customer and establishment property.To maintain a computerised booking and billing system.To deal with the arrival of customers.To prepare customer accounts and deal with departures.To exchange foreign cash and travellers cheques.Meeting, welcoming and orientating all guests to the Lodge.To host guests in the evenings. GENERIC DUTIES To deal with emergency situations.To maintain a safe and secure working environment.To maintain a professional and hygienic personal appearance.To deal with customers.To communicate effectively with guests, management and colleagues both at the lodges and head office.To operate a payment point and process payments.To handle and record non-cash payments and refunds.To maintain effective working relationships.To contribute to the development of self and others. ADDITIONAL DUTIES To promote the Lodges.To carry out any other duties that may be required from time to time.Housekeeping duties may be necessary, depending on which lodge you are at. The successful candidate will have the following skills:- Have strong linguistic and inter-personal skills- Be 5-star orientated- Have the ability to work with figures and cash- Have the ability to work under pressure and prioritise- Have organisation and co-ordination skills- Enjoy and be good at clerical and admin work- Have excellent telephone manners- Be well presented and agile (job involves a lot of running around in hot weather)- Have a minimum education of Grade 12- Be PC literate – Microsoft Word & Excel- Reception experience in Hospitality – Minimum 2 years Panstrat is the Property Management System – experience on this or Fidelio/ Opera would be preferred Guide VOCATIONAL DUTIES To create and perform a 5 star standard guided nature experience for guestsTo track animals and identify spoorTo provide vehicle care and maintain all company resources and assets.To drive company vehicle following all the statutory lawsTo provide guest transfers and drop-offsGreet and assist guests on arrival and departure and transport guests and/or their luggageTo provide a 5 star guest service and experienceTo assist with site inspectionsTo host Morning and Afternoon RefreshmentsDescribe lay-out, services and facilities of the lodgeTo host dinner with your guests (includes knowledge of the alcoholic beverages and cuisine)To report problems with vehicles to the workshopTo maintain health, hygiene and a professional appearance at all times (cleanly shaven, boots polished, pressed uniform, etc) ADDITIONAL DUTIES To ensure that a clean and hygienic work environment is maintained.To ensure that emergency situations are effectively dealt with.To ensure a safe environment for customers, staff and visitors is maintained.To ensure that a professional and hygienic personal appearance is maintained.To ensure that effective working relationships are maintained.To contribute to the development of self and others.To contribute to the planning, organization and evaluation of work in the department.To contribute to the training and development of staff and self to enhance performance.To monitor and maintain health, safety and security.To create, maintain and improve productive working relationships.To carry out any other job related duties that may be required from time to time.To assist with from time to time the maintenance of the ecological integrity of the game reserve
