A well-established foodservice distributer has a vacancy for an Assistant Nightshift Manager in Parow.

Job Description:

* Stock / building security and vehicle loading will be the main responsibility.
* Other main tasks include planning the rounds, supervising the picking and hashing of the rounds, preparing for loading and then following the Pick to Load Process when loading trucks.
* Manage six picking / loading teams.
* Manage the team w.r.t. productivity and time management.
* Prevent and manage shrinkage and damages.
* Housekeeping.
* Manage logistics in warehousing and manage expenses in the department, e.g. overtime.
* Manage implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
* Managing the Food safety Audit programme.
* Utilising the prescribed system (Great Plains) to draw reports.
* Managing and controlling the food safety requirements in the loading team.
* Taking charge of the department’s human capital issues, including disciplining team members, as well as investigations and prosecuting during hearings.
* Areas will include: Loading bays, air-lock identification and reporting to the Nightshift Manager.
* Managing the budget for the section.
* Managing staff and welfare of members.
* Managing stock control and inventory function, including stocktake preparation.
* Enforce safety and housekeeping programme on an ongoing basis.
* Leverage Great Plains reporting in order to control branch logistical functions.
* Manage the statistics of picking for picker statistics and ensure productivity.

Requirements:

* Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
* At least 3 years’ experience within an operations, logistics or distribution environment.
* Computer literacy, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Great Plains.
* At least 2 years’ experience in people management.
* Understanding of the supply chain from buying and selling to distribution.
* Have technical knowledge of the day-to-day running of warehouse and loading.
* Adaptability with regards to work, overtime and operational changes.
* Ability to plan.
* Highly disciplined.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Must be able to work Nightshift: Sunday to Thursday 16h00 until completed.
* Display understanding of how the business operates.
* Capacity to manage people dynamics.
* Ability to coach employees to work more efficiently.
* Accuracy and attention to detail with regards to stock movements.
* High energy levels.
* Own transport advantageous.
* Ability to lead, work with and, be part of a team.
