OVERALL PURPOSE An International Multi-Disciplinary Primary Healthcare Service provider who brings Care to the Community is expanding its services into the Mafikeng Area. The Company brings Primary Healthcare to patient’s doorsteps in a mobile clinic setting, providing clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic services
PROJECT OVERVIEW The mobile medical unit provides essential primary health care services. The health team will support communities providing access to quality mobile emergency primary healthcare services.

External: Community leaders, Directorate of health, local health providers

• Drug and family planning, and complementary medicine
• Assist with the manufacturing of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to a formula and standard operating procedures approved by the responsible pharmacist
• Assist with re-packaging of medicine
• Assist with the ordering of medicine and scheduled substances according to an instruction of a person authorized in terms of the Medicines Act to purchase or obtain such medicine or scheduled substance
• Assist with the reading and preparation of a prescription’ the selection, manipulation or compounding of the medicine; the labeling and supply of the medicine, in an appropriate container following the interpretation and evaluation of the prescription by a pharmacist
• Accurately interpret scripts and act in a professional and responsible manner and within the legal requirements in accordance with the SAPC
• Capture script details accurately, and verify patients’ details on the system
• Ensure accurate picking / packing / labeling and checking of medication and be aware of common dosages as well as important drug interactions
• Give accurate instructions to patients regarding the correct use of medicine supplied
• Ensure all medications are checked for accuracy by a, and signed by a, pharmacist
• Provide information to individuals in order to promote health
• Ensure authorization of chronic, HIV and AIDS and oncology medication
• Maintain customer profiles on the system
• Report on low / out of stock levels, and stock errors to the manager
• Receive dispensary stock in accordance with companies policy
• Facilitate bi-annual stock takes
• Exercise stock, cash and asset control

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE: ESSENTIAL DESIRABLE
Vocational qualification A completed Pharmacy Assistant Qualification as well as registration with the SAPC is essential
Work experience At least one year of post-qualification work experience in relevant field
Further two years of post-qualification work, plus specialization training.
One year of previous NGO experience, directly implementing a health project
Languages Strong working knowledge of Setswana (spoken and written)
IT & Communications Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
