Our client is searching for an experienced Assistant Store Manager for their Atterbury store.

Key Performance Areas:
• Manage all aspects of merchandising for footwear, clothing and apparel in the store including signage etc.
• Supervises the store employees in the areas of loss prevention, customer services.
• Provides management advice to staff on problems/store emergencies
• Verifies and monitors hours worked by temps on time sheets, controls overtime usage, etc
• Management of expenses to ensure they do not exceed budget e.g. telephone, stationery, petty cash, purchase orders etc
• Stock management: orders product, as needed, from the Planner in order to maintain an appropriate product assortment by size, colour, and collection.
• Prepares statistical reports describing store activities e.g. weekly and monthly reports, shortage and cyclic counts report.
• Oversees stock counts
• Monitors and orders all store operating and merchandising suppliers
• Opens and closes store in accordance with established policies and procedures i.e. verifies opening cash balance at each register, run daily bank up, etc.
• Oversees daily cash reconciliation and bank deposit procedures
• Manage all store functions in the absence of the Store Manager
• Perform any and all duties normally assigned to subordinate staff to maintain staff coverage and to lead by example

Requirements:
• 4 to 5 years retail store management experience
• Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
• Knowledge of retail operations, including Sales and Customer Service, Merchandising and promotional techniques, inventory control and loss prevention.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills are a must
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds such as customers, other employees, and management staff will secure
• PC literacy in Ms Office and sound reporting skills

Salary: Competitive market related plus quarterly incentives based on revenue performance.
