Our client, a leading Gold Mining Group is looking to employ an Assistant Supervisor: Infection Control at their Health & Wellness Centre in Rustenburg in the North West Province.

The appointee should:

Be in possession of Grade 12 or Equivalent
Be in possession of a 4 years Nursing Diploma and be registered with SANC
Be in possession of an Infection Control Qualification with 2 years’ experience
Be a self- starter and work with limited supervision to ensure expedited completion of processes
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Pay attention to detail, and have a meticulous and well-organized work method
Be diplomatic yet assertive, with excellent reporting competencies
Be a team player, but show resourcefulness and leadership abilities in producing deadline-driven results
Have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and appropriate information systems
Be willing to work extended hours as required
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Gold Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous requirements:

Infection Control experience in the mining
Diploma in PHC
Diploma in Occupational Health

Key responsibilities includes:

Responsible for all aspects relating to infection, prevention and control
Ensure the compliance to Health and Safety practices including correct usage of PPE
Monitor and ensure compliance to the infection control measures
Conduct regular audits and follow up on findings.
Conduct in-service training for the Infection Prevention & Control Team members
Convenes and coordinates the Infection Prevention & Control Team (IPCT) in the implementation of strategies, policies and legislation
Adhering to applicable legislation such as Communicable Diseases Act, Mine Health and Safety Act
Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste
Monthly reporting and statistical analysis
