Package
3 Year contract (renewable)

Single and Family contracts offered.
Generous Tax free basic salary. Offered according to experience.
From 11400 up to 21000 QAR per month (depending on experience). 21 000 QAR is +/- 7800 AUD per month basic salary. Salary paid in QAR.
Free fully furnished accommodation provided.
Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.
Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).
School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) per child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.
40 days paid annual vacation days.
End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.

Job Specification

Position Summary:
Associate Medical Physicist work under the supervision of a licensed medical physicist. The Medical Physicist oversees the all medical physics related aspects essential in running the Oncology Hospital.
Some of the duties include; radiation protection, Physics QA program, dosimetry, treatment planning, commissioning of new equipment and training of other staff.
The scope of the job function involves a central role in providing technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy, implementing new technologies in the clinic, maintaining established policies, procedures and objectives, quality measurements, and safety.
The medical physics team is involved in teaching and advising other staff on new technologies and modalities being implemented in the Radiation Oncology Hospital.
The physics team is also involved in the investigation of potentials and pit-falls of the new development and techniques, with research where required.

Principal Accountabilities:

Demonstrates knowledge and application of the Employer’s mission, vision and values.
Assists in planning radiation treatments for cancer patients and perform dose calculations.
Works under the supervision of Senior Physicist in all physics related tasks.
Works with the Radiation Safety team to design shields for treatment rooms, ensuring that
Radiotherapy units are operating safely.
Involves in the QA programs that are currently being implemented the various radiation therapy equipment.
Engages in the acceptance testing and commissioning of radiation therapy equipment.
The post entails the clinical implementation of new technology in the clinic.
Provides advice on radiation protection issues in radiation therapy.
Performs physics tasks pertaining to treatment planning, delivery and verification.
Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues.
Maintains and organizes required records, reports, and files.
Collect, amalgamate and assess any necessary statistics.
Performs any other relevant duties as requested by supervisors.
Complies with the Employer’s policies and procedures; especially relating to infection control, safety and quality management issues.

Quality Assurance:

Performs routine QA checks on linear accelerators, remote brachytherapy after loader, and CT scanner on a periodic basis.
Monitors the consistency of medical physics equipment, to ensure proper function and precision is achieved during use. Similarly, must ensure that ongoing periodic maintenance practices are adhered to.
Participates in the development of standards of patient care and treatment delivery.

Communication/Teamwork/Other duties:

Liaises with Medical staff to add technical results to patient reports.
Will provide training and advice on new equipment and protocols.
Researching new equipment developments and applications.
Will participates in agreed rotations throughout the various radiotherapy department sections in order to gain the required proficiency and experience needed to fulfill the required services.
Perform all duties according to the Departmental Protocols in place, and to report any deviation from the said protocols to the Chief Medical Physicist and the prescribing Radiation Oncologist.
Observes the Employer’s Health and Safety regulations, Local Rules and Professional Codes of Practice.
Complies with the Employer’s policies and procedures; including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, infection control, moving and handling, radiation safety and quality management.
Performs other duties as requested, based on qualifications, grade and experience.
