Owing to rapid growth in the Hospital Team the company has created a National Sales Manager position for a proven sales leader who is capable of leading a team of highly motivated and technically proficient sales representatives.

Job Function
Manage a team of ten sales representatives.
Coach and train the team to success with in-field travel.
Ensure that the marketing strategies and activities are implemented according to the agreed upon plan.
Manage the expense budget for the Hospital Sales Team.
Ensure that the sales team achieves its sales budgets as set out in the Business Plan.
Drill down to the regional performances and the individual hospital performances and report on these monthly.
Required to travel extensively around the country to co-travel with the sales representatives as well as to visit key institutions.

Essential Attributes
In-depth knowledge of the private hospital sector in South Africa.
Experience in selling to health care specialists.
Mature, participative and consultative leader.
Strong analytical skills.
At least one year of proven sales management experience.

Desirable Attributes
Belongs to a designated group in terms of Employment Equity.
Life Science undergraduate degree.
Formal business qualification at an undergraduate level.

Key Performance Indicators
Performance of sales team to budget.
Level of control of expenses – selling expenses, human resource costs and relationship building costs.
Retention of sales representatives and replacement in case of resignations or attrition.
Quality and punctuality of all reports required in terms of the Management Handbook and Reporting Requirements.
