Job Description

Maintaining contact and relationship with client end-users, ascertain needs, promote solutions and developing business opportunities for subsidiary
Working with Internal teams (Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Engineering and Projects)
Impacts to/from other departments need to be considered at all times. e.g: warehouse for stock availability, workshop facilities and support, supply chain and finance.
Maintaining contact with customers to be aware of technical problems
Installing of electrical equipment in panels
Installations of electrical cable and connections
Electrical wiring of panels and numbering
Installing of lights and plug circuits
Isolation of equipment
Testing of common electrical circuits
Analysing technical problems, planning and implementing improvement action
Problem solving for electrical & automation projects
Designing and preparing the automation design (PLC programs, VSD settings etc.) for the equipment
Drafting of electrical diagrams, equipment and cable schedules etc. if needed
Ensuring the availability of drawings and data packs for the production department
Cabling, commissioning, testing and cabling on equipment when necessary
Project management will include evaluating opportunities for re-engineering on existing plants
Costing of improvements or modifications
Developing of project schedules
Liaising with solution and material suppliers
Efficient filing system for documentation, drawings, electronic data and notes
Quality & HSE
Quality assurance and keep up standards in all tasks
Ensuring documentation packages are created and updated and available for automation & electrical
Complying with OHAS Act (83 of 1995) / employee section
Specifying replacements to obsolete equipment
Product non conformity

Minimum Requirements

N. Dip in Electronic Engineering (light current) in instrumentation and control systems or similar
Electrical trade test will be an advantage
3 - 5 yrs experience within the automation field
Experience with Allen Bradley products
Site experience in the electrical and automation fields
MS Projects experience
Drivers licence
