We are looking for a Bakery Operations Advisor for our client for a 3 month contract.
The primary responsibility of the Operations Advisor is to analyse the IDC’s (Independent Distribution Contractor) operations and properly advise it about optimal logistics, warehousing, transportation and handling of bread. The Operations Advisor must have the ability to do needs analysis and operational assessments
Our successful Bakery Operations Advisors Key Responsibilities ….
• Provide IDC appropriate advice and provide support on the following:
o strategically planning and managing logistics, warehousing and transportation of bread delivery,
o directing, optimizing and coordinating full order cycles,
o methods of tracking quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency,
o best methods to arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments,
o best methods to supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce, o manage cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets,
o how to maintain standards of measurements and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements,
o applying food handling safety standards.
• Financial management and administration of company finances and assets of the organization to sustain its economic profits.
• Engaging with clients and managing client relationships
• Review and monitor IDC operations to ensure industry best practices and legislative compliance.
• Engage with all stakeholders and manage stakeholder relations
• Understand the client’s need from the IDC and ensure alignment.
• Take a positive and creative approach towards the profit bearing resources and find out ways for making the most of these resources
• Development of operational assessment reports to drive efficiency
• Identify business gaps and make recommendations on the corrective measures.
• Develop competencies within the IDC to respond quickly and fast track needs of the client
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in bakery logistics
• Proven working experience as a bakery logistics manager
• Record of successful bakery distribution and logistics management
• Proficient in standard logistics software
• Experience in starting / running own business preferable Experience in providing SMME advisory would be advantageous
• BSC in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain
• Proficient computer skills in MS Office and SharePoint
