Banksman/Onsetter
The appointee should:
• Have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• Have a relevant Trade test certificate section 13
• Have at least 3 years’ experience as a Plater
• Have good communication skills
• Be a self-starter, motivated and be results orientated
• Exhibit good oral and writing skills
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment,
Key responsibilities include:
• Fabrication, repairs and installations of structural steelwork including pipes and services
• Sound knowledge with regards to Shaft Hoisting and loading infrastructure and maintenance thereof
• Be appointed under regulation 2.9.2 of Mineral Act and applicable regulation to Mine Health and Safety Act
• Responsible for proper discipline in his / her section.
• Provide and maintain a safe environment with minimum risk to health and safety of employees in the section
